Gabriel Sempill lives and works in London. She was taught plant drawing by John Nash and studied ceramics at the Royal College of Art.

During the 60s she worked in the entomology department of the Natural History Museum, drawing specimens for their publications.In the 70s she worked as a professional luthier; and also restored an early nineteenth-century carousel for the National Trust.

Her illustrations for The Celtic Inheritance by Peter Beresford Ellis were published in 1985.In the 1990s she started etching, which she continues to do and has exhibited in various solo and group exhibitions in London and Scotland. She is currently working on a series of drawings and prints.

By arrangement Gabriel gives private lessons in her Kentish Town, London studio.
